Adrian Mutu și-a încheiat fulgerător mandatul la CFR Cluj. Sincer, nu mă miră. Supriza a fost, mai degrabă, numirea sa pe banca ardelenilor. Pentru că CV-ul nu-l recomanda. De fapt, încă trăiește din cariera spectaculoasă de fotbalist. Ca antrenor, nu a realizat prea multe lucruri. Și, probabil, i se vor oferi din ce în ce mai puține șanse. Și nu din partea unor echipe de top.
Un start decent
Fotbalist de clasă, Adrian Mutu a avut noroc ca tehnician. Mă rog, la începutul carierei. Performanțele de pe teren au făcut să fie căutat și ca antrenor. Au contat golurile de la naționala tricoloră și din campionatele tari ale Europei. Lumea a uitat de nenumăratele scandaluri, de cazurile de dopaj. I-a oferit șansa unui restart, considerând că s-a maturizat. Și fără îndoială, îl merita.
La primul său mandat, a scăpat FC Voluntari de retrogradare. Cu chiu, cu vai, dar și-a atins obiectivul. S-a gândit că nu i-ar strica niște bani și a experimentat prin Emiratele Arabe Unite. Nu la prima echipă, ci la tineretul celor de la Al Wahda. S-a întors acasă tot la tineret, dar la cel al tricolorilor. A mers la Campionatul European și lucrările păreau promițătoare. Chiar dacă nu a repetat performanța lui Mirel Rădoi și s-a oprit în grupe.
Eșec după eșec
A urmat însă o serie dezastruoasă. Adrian Mutu a mers din eșec în eșec. Câteva luni pe banca celor de la FCU Craiova, cu rezultate slabe. Și o plecare cu capul în pământ și cu oltenii la retrogradare. Un mandat decent la Rapid București, încheiat abrupt, cu o fugă în Azerbaidjan. O despărțire venită cu doar câteva zile înainte de startul campionatului. Motivul? Doar banii azerilor de la Neftci Baku.
Nu au fost prea mulți, pentru că a intervenit un nou divorț. Nici măcar o jumătate de an nu a rezistat pe banca tehnică. A plecat intempestiv și deloc regretat de azeri. La început anului a mai primit o șansă. De la CFR Cluj, care visa să se lupte la titlul de campioană. Nici pe banca ardelenilor nu a reușit. Și nu-i de mirare. Eșecul rușinos cu Corvinul Hunedoara, din Cupa României, nu a fost decât o confirmare. Pentru că CFR Cluj făcuse destui pași greșiți și în campionat.
Restant la comunicare
Dar ce-i lipsește antrenorului Adrian Mutu? Cu siguranță, este tobă de fotbal. Muncește mult și pare să-i placă această meserie. Mai degrabă, suferă la capitolul comunicare. De acee, nici nu reușește să creeze un grup unit la echipă. Nu stăpânește vestiarul, iar jucătorii nu iartă. L-au curățat de fiecare dată. Mai puțin puștii de la tineretul României.
Și aici este vina sa. Poate că nu înțelege că faima de jucător nu-l mai ajută. Au trecut deja vreo 8 ani de când și-a agățat ghetele-n cui. Și performanțele de pe teren nu-i mai impresionează pe elevii săi. Atitudinea sa pare de multă ori arogantă și distantă. Poate că nu-i așa, dar nu dă bine nici la imagine, nici la relația cu jucătorii.
Are deja 45 de ani și eșecurile se adună. Iar singurul lucru pe care-l poate face este să o ia mereu de la capăt. Și să învețe din nereușite. Altfel, în curând, îl vom vedea în vreo funcție administrativă.
