„Eu sunt optimist, stafful este optimist, jucătorii la fel… vom aborda această dublă cu Cehia doar cu gândul la calificare. Şi cred că avem şanse, avem dorinţă, avem ambiţie şi sper să reuşi să facem acest pas pentru că ar fi foarte, foarte bine pentru handbalul românesc să avem două calificări consecutive la nivel de seniori”, a spus președintele FR de Handbal, Constantin Din.
Antrenorul George Buricea a convocat 20 de jucători, după cum urmează: portari – Ionuţ Iancu, Dan Vasile; jucători de câmp – Dan Racoţea, Daniel Stanciuc, Tudor Botea, Andrei Drăgan, Călin Căbuţ, Gabriel Ilie, Andrei Buzle, Nicolae Ungureanu, Demis Grigoraş, Ionuţ Nistor, Alexandru Andrei, Roland Thalmaier, Denis Vereş, Călin Dedu, Zavi Dumitrana, Robert Nagy, Dragoş Hanţaru şi Liviu Caba.
