22 de echipe formate din câte opt cicliști vor pleca pe cei 3.400 km ai Corsa Rosa, care va începe la Torino sâmbătă, 4 mai, și se va încheia duminică, 26 mai, cu un circuit unic în jurul Orașului Etern, Roma, care va include unul dintre cele mai renumite obiective turistice din lume, Coloseumul.
Giro d’Italia este o componentă cheie a portofoliului cuprinzător de ciclism în direct al Eurosport, care cuprinde peste 1.000 de curse în direct pe an, inclusiv fiecare cursă de Mare Tur și cursă UCI World Tour la masculin și feminin, UCI Mountain Bike World Series, UCI Track Champions League, plus fiecare minut de ciclism la Jocurile Olimpice.
