Cum spun localnicii, a câștigat fotbalul, adică echipa mai mică, echipa care a atins o performanță rară, ultima dată, Rapid, din Liga a II-a, câștiga Cupa României, acum 49 de ani, după ce eliminase Dinamo în sferturi, Steaua în semifinale, și câștiga o finală cu cântec în fața Universității Craiova, 2-1, dublă Nicolae Manea.
Nici Lucescu n-a atins performanța
Ce n-a reușit Mircea Lucescu, cu o generație fantastică, Gabor, Rednic, Klein, Andone, Văetuș, Petcu, Gălan sau Mateuț a dat peste cap orice pronostic tânărul Florin Maxim, după ce a pus la cale o echipă super interesantă, cu tineri și jucători experimentați, precum Neacșa, Herghelegiu, Velisar, Manolache, Coman, Lupu sau Chindriș. Și cine mai credea în povești la Hunedoara, când din anii 2000 echipa s-a zbătut într-o mediocritate tipică fotbalului părăsit de la noi, când veneau doar promisiuni și se mergea pe vorbe, cu trimiteri către legendele clubului, alții vorbeau despre banii pe Lobonț, demagogie ieftină și nimic mai mult. Și orașul parcă a renăscut, odată cu apariția statuii lui Michael Klein, acolo, în rondul celebru din oraș, peste drum era și o cârciumă, cu însemnele Corvinului, un supermarket, care se vede din orice unghi l-ai poza pe regretatul internațional. Noroc cu un fost jurnalist sportiv, care a ajuns primar și a demonstrat că oricine poate.
Și așa am aflat că mama e rudă cu Klein
Corvinul a devenit acea poveste superbă pe care le-o spui copiilor de astăzi, când au dispărut narațiunile despre fotbalul românesc, că te-ai cam săturat să o bagi pe aia cu Craiova Maxima, cu Corvinul din 1981-1982 și generația lui Lucescu, Steaua 86, România 94 sau Steaua 2005-2006. Acum, le poți povesti micuților și despre cum o echipă din Liga a II-a, fără drept de promovare, dar care poate juca în Europa League, că așa e paradoxul la noi, a reușit să câștige Cupa României, când nimeni nu-i dădea vreo șansă.
Și povestea are o valoare sentimentală, chiar și pentru mine, deși am crescut cu Universitatea Craiova. De dimineață, am vorbit cu mama, știind că ea e din Hunedoara. Acum câțiva ani am vizitat Hunedoara și-i trimiteam poze, iar mama îmi povestea despre copilărie. Azi, am aflat că este rudă cu Klein, pentru că numele ei de fată era Maria Klein, că s-a bucurat enorm când a aflat de dimineață că echipa din oraș a câștigat o Cupă a României, ceva ce n-a reușit nici măcar marele Lucescu. Și stai și-ți asculți părinții și empatizezi. N-ai cum să nu te bucuri de performanța Corvinului!
