George Nicolescu, cel care a compus şi cântat imnurile oficiale ale Petrolului Ploieşti şi Gloriei Buzău, să facă şi o melodie pentru Steaua. Interpretul a realizat piesa, însă evenimentele din Ghencea au făcut ca melodia să nu fie difuzată. “N-aveam cum să-i refuz, era un act artistic pentru echipa-fanion a României! Acum, că Gigi e la puşcărie, a rămas să mai vorbesc cu Vali Argăseală”, declara acesta în 2014.
Defectul său de vedere nu l-a împiedicat să meargă la şcoală. Astfel, el a făcut Şcoala din Bucureşti pentru pacienţii cu ambliopie (1957-1959), apoi gimnaziul şi liceul (1960-1968) la Şcoala Pentru Orbi din Cluj (1968-1972).

În 1970 câştigă premiul I la Festivalul ‘Tinereţe pe portativ’, la Cluj. Începe colaborarea cu compozitorul George Grigoriu. În 1973 îi apare primul şlagăr, ‘Eternitate’, iar în 1974 pe un disc mic, intitulat ‘Şi cântau mandolinele’, patru şlagăre de George Grigoriu.
A urmat Facultatea de Limbi Romanice, secţia Franceză-Română, iar în 1977 a început să predea franceza la o şcoală de nevăzători din Buzău, unde a rămas până în 1985. A cântat între timp la Cenaclul ‘Flacăra’, apoi, din 1985, a fost solist vocal al Casei Tineretului din Buzău. După 1989, a făcut parte, pentru o scurtă perioadă (martie-noiembrie 1990), din trupa de cântăreţi nevăzători ‘Optimiştii’.
Din discografia sa mai menţionăm: „Ordinea de zi” (1984) şi „Prefă-te inimă în stea” (1989). S-a pensionat în 1992, de atunci participând ocazional la unele spectacole, scrie Agerpres.
